Working from plaster casts, Sam will teach students the fundamentals of drawing using techniques from the Renaissance through to the 19th Century.
Through lots of drawing, live demonstrations, group discussions and individual feedback, students will develop tools to capture accurate proportions, study light and shadow and create a convincing sense of form and three-dimensionality. By the end of the course, they will have several completed drawings and will be well placed to continue their studies into figure drawing or portrait painting.
